When revising The Body Shop project for documentation, several changes were necessary to align with commercial specifications and comply with Australian standards. These modifications included the addition of an accessible toilet, a break room, a kitchenette, and an office. Furthermore, alterations were made to the central sinks because plumbing couldn't be accommodated through the floor.

The shop front was transformed into stacker slider doors to allow the entire front of the shop to open, ensuring easy access for customers and enabling passersby to view the store. Due to the substantial weight of the stacker slider doors, they required additional support beyond the plaster stud wall. To address this, a steel beam support was installed above the stacker slider doors, further reinforced by engineered steel box column sections. To maintain a seamless appearance, a concealed cupboard was designed to store the stacker door when the store is open. This cupboard was finished with Polytech cedar timber laminate.

The bespoke wall display joinery from the original Body Shop project underwent only a minor modification, specifically related to the floor storage drawers. During the planning phase, it was deemed more appropriate to use finger-pull shark-nose drawers instead of handles on the front of the drawers. This decision was made to enhance the aesthetics and ensure a cleaner look. The 700mm-high drawers were seen as a potential hazard for customers walking past, with concerns about injuries or clothes getting caught on handles. The finger-pull drawers offer a flush and sleek appearance. The floating shelves and drawer carcasses were finished with sandalwood veneer, providing a pleasing contrast against the open display cases and drawer faces, which were finished with Polytech agave laminate.

The central sink display tester space had to be redesigned due to the absence of plumbing through the floor. An alternative approach involved creating a central display using MDF, forming individual columns of varying heights to showcase different products engagingly. The columns were finished with green apple marble, which was ideal for the central display as it served as the focal point in the design.

Overall, the updated design in The Body Shop 2.0 adheres to Australian standards and fulfils the client's requirements for a functional and aesthetically pleasing design that reflects The Body Shop's brand values and ethics.
